WCC helps you with college aid forms

February marks Financial Aid Awareness Month at Waubonsee Community College, with several free public events planned. All events are designed to help students who plan to attend college and receive financial aid for the 2011-12 school year.

Advisors from Waubonsee’s financial aid office will conduct workshops to help students and parents complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. All participants should bring their 2010 W-2 forms and/or federal income taxes.

Waubonsee’s Aurora Campus, located at 5 E. Galena Blvd., will play host to the second FAFSA Fair from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, while the final fair will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, in at West Aurora High School, 1201 W. New York St.

Veterans interested in receiving educational benefits can attend an informational session from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, in room 106 of the Sugar Grove Campus Student Center. The session will be presented by the Illinois State Approving Agency.
