Bartlett ends skid with two victories: The Hawks snapped a 7-game losing streak with a pair of victories on the second day of action at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Classic hosted by Moline. The Hawks won their afternoon game against Machesney Park Harlem, 62-51, powered by Lance Whitaker (18 points), Matt Chaltin (17) and Femi Oyewole (14). The difference was the second quarter, when the Hawks outscored Harlem (7-12) by a 19-9 margin.

“It feels good to play a full game of basketball and win,” Bartlett coach Jim Wolfsmith said. “When you have a slide like this, any win is a good win.”The Hawks made it two straight later in the day by defeating Rochelle 68-49 to finish 2-2 at Moline. Whitaker scored 22 points and Chaltin added 10 to lead Bartlett (8-12).Westminster Christian 55, Chicago Perspectives Charter 51: Josh Beachler and Andrew Mason each had 12 points to lead the Warriors (11-6) to a win in the MLK Shootout at Concordia University in River Forest. Artruro Gallego had 9 points and Ian Dutcher 8 for Westminster.
