Lakes wins second straight
After opening the season 0-6, Lakes' boys basketball team suddenly can't lose. The Eagles have won for the second night in a row.
On Friday, Lakes defeated rival Antioch for its first win of the season.
The Eagles were able to move to 2-6 after beating Wauconda 62-49 on Saturday, thanks to double figures from three players. Tanner Blain led the way with 17 points, including 4 3-pointers. Justin Bergeron added 16 points and Jay-Jay Elvir finished with 10 points. Wauconda was led by Tyler Gick, who tallied 16 points.
Highland Park 50, Lake Zurich 31: Highland Park moves to 4-4 on the season with the win. Jonny Stempel and Layne Gierke each had 16 points for the Giants.
