Last call for Santa's Flight to Schaumburg

Today is the last day to register for Santa's Flight to Schaumburg Sunday morning at Schaumburg Regional Airport, and only limited space is available.

The event, organized by the Schaumburg Park District and sponsored by Northwest Flyers Inc., will run from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at the airport at 903 W. Irving Park Road in Schaumburg.

Participants will wait for Santa's arrival by helicopter in the airport's hangar, while enjoying a buffet breakfast provided by Pilot Pete's restaurant.

As Santa approaches, the hangar doors will open. Children will have the opportunity to talk with Santa upon his arrival.

Registration for ages 3 to 12 is $9, and for ages 13 and up is $16 for Schaumburg Park District residents and $27 for nonresidents.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children 3 and younger are free, but must sit in a parent's lap. All family members in attendance must be registered, and dressing warmly is strongly advised.
