Two charged with stealing from donation jars

Two people have been arrested on charges of stealing donation jars from two businesses.

Fox River Grove Police found the suspects at the River Inn Motel, 1000 Northwest Highway, at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after recognizing a vehicle that belonged to one of the suspects.

Kathryn A. Williams, 28, of the 700 block Crest Avenue in Schaumburg, and Michael L. Feterick, 40, were arrested on warrants for the donation jar thefts, Fox River Grove police said.

Both were staying at a motel room, but were found hiding in another room when police arrived, police said.

Williams and Feterick are accused of stealing a collection container for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation from Country Donuts in Crystal Lake on Oct. 30, police said.

The second theft occurred Nov. 15, when police say they took a Toys for Tots container from Cary's Restaurant in Cary.

Williams and Feterick were released upon posting bond.
