Marian ends Viator's playoff hopes

St. Viator's hopes of a playoff berth came to an end Friday night in a 45-21 East Suburban Catholic Conference loss to Marian Catholic in Chicago Heights. Viator (4-5, 2-5) was in a scoreless game after a quarter and trailed 14-7 at halftime but Marian (7-2, 5-1) scored the first three touchdowns of the third quarter.

Jimmy Menges rushed for 142 yards on 26 carries with touchdown runs of 1 yard in the second quarter and 3 yards in the fourth. Cameron Korab was 15-for-23 passing for 160 yards with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Frank Laterza.

Jereul Taylor rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown as Marian finished with 488 yards of total offense.
