Scouting Addison Trail at Leyden

Addison Trail (4-4, 4-1) at Leyden (4-4, 3-2)

When: 7:30 p.m. today at West Campus, Northlake

Last week: Addison Trail lost to Downers South 28-14; Leyden lost to Lyons 54-7

Outlook: There's no gray area to the scenario the winner is playoff-eligible and the loser is waiting until next year. "That's what we told the kids, win and you're in," said Leyden coach Tom Cerasani, whose team is looking for its third berth in four years. "Our goal is to make the playoffs every year and we're in position to do it. Our destiny is in our own hands and you can't ask for anything better than that." Cerasani hopes the Eagles can control things upfront for RB Justin Bolo against the smaller but speedy Blazers, who trailed 28-0 last week. Not much has changed since Paul Parpet Jr. has taken over for his dad as QB Trevor Bermingham (680 yards, 9 TDs, 2 INTs), Anthony Messina (457 yards rushing, 6 TDs) and Anthony Catanese (680 yards rushing and receiving, 8 TDs) will test Leyden's defense led by Nelson Lugo, Diego Moreno and Steve Travis.
