Those lucky voters in the 56th House!
When the Daily Herald publishes pictures, statements and opinions of 56th District state House seat candidates Republican Ryan Higgins and Democrat Michelle Mussman, I wish my wife and I lived in the 56th District.
On Nov. 3, voters in that district will enjoy win-win results. Win or lose, I truly believe both of these fine young people will contribute in some way to the perpetuation of the American way of life envisioned by our country's founders. No matter what the liberal elite or tea party would have us believe to be the answers to our current circumstances, people like Mr. Ryan and Ms. Mussman serving in legislative chambers are our key to the good life.
The time has come to back up the trucks in Washington, Springfield and the Cook County building in Chicago, load all of the "This is the way we do things around here" politicians, and replace them with young, intelligent, creative people.
Legislative chambers would be similar to an Arlington Park race for 2-year-old thoroughbred horses. They would be young, talented, intelligent, excited, positive, somewhat inexperienced, and rarin' to go.
The more meaningless campaign ads I suffer through, and the more biased media reports I endure, I am drawn closer and closer to the "If you're in, you're out" mode of voting on Nov. 2.
