Jacobs takes 2nd at Hampshire

At Hampshire: Jacobs' girls volleyball team made a run through the field at the Hampshire Invitational Saturday, but then the Golden Eagles were stopped short of a championship.

Marian Central (18-2) downed Jacobs twice, the final time in the championship match by a 25-20, 25-20 score.

Leading the way for the Golden Eagles for the day was Alyssa Ehrhardt with 33 kills, 32 digs and 25 aces. Taylor Lesner added 23 kills and 41 digs, while Quinn Luehring had 91 assists and 22 digs. Nikki Madoch added 30 kills for Jacobs (12-8) and Mattie Stearns had 53 digs.

Hampshire (11-11) won the consolation title, beating Winnebago 23-25, 25-19, 15-8.

Alex Dumoulin led the Whip-Purs with 46 kills for the tournament. Tia Incapreo had 46 digs and Leigh-Anne Libby 102 assists.
