Scouting Barrington at Conant
Barrington (4-0) at Conant (2-2)
When: 7:30 p.m. today at Charles O. Feutz Field
Last week: Barrington d. Wheeling 24-7; Conant lost to Hersey 34-7
Outlook: A win makes Barrington the first playoff-eligible MSL team with the minimum 5 victories, while Conant looks to rebound from consecutive losses. "We were going about things in the wrong way in a lot of ways," said Conant coach Bill Modelski. "We weren't practicing well and we got away with it for two weeks and the third week we're in a game we could have won. We were still thinking we were good and we found out we weren't." Conant will get OL Kenny Kalish (concussion) back this week, but DL Trace Ancona (concussion) is still out and RB Cordell Clark was questionable. Barrington got another strong and opportunistic defensive effort last week and RB Chase Murdock (523 yards, 7 TDs) did the job on the ground behind his big offensive line. "We have to show up and we really didn't show up last week," Modelski said. "They're good and they're solid." Barrington has won five straight and seven of eight in a series it leads 13-10.
