Scouting Nazareth at St. Viator

Nazareth (2-1, 0-1) at St. Viator (2-1, 0-1)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday at Forest View

Last week: Nazareth lost to St. Patrick 24-7; St. Viator lost to Carmel 39-0

Outlook: Both teams look to rebound from losses where they couldn't get untracked offensively. Viator gets some help there as QB Cameron Korab returns after missing last week and part of the Week 2 win against Dunbar with a high ankle sprain. "Defensively we didn't play that bad," Viator coach Chris Kirkpatrick said of the Carmel loss. "Their average starting position on their first two touchdowns was on our 30 and we held them to less yards and less points than anyone else." Nazareth gave up an interception for a TD in the first two minutes last week and avoided a shutout in the final minute. Junior RB Joe Yruegas, a transfer from Viator, rushed for 129 yards in the first two weeks and in a 28-14 win over Glenbard South in Week 2, sophomore Rudy Romagnano rushed for 123 yards and QB Matt Behrendt threw for 162 yards. "These next two games will be big for us," Kirkpatrick said of also facing St. Patrick next week before Joliet Catholic. "Nazareth is always a balanced team and they're always well-coached (Tim Racki)." Nazareth's 43-0 win in 2007 was its first in seven meetings.
