Scouting Prospect at Hoffman Estates
Prospect (1-1) at Hoffman Estates (0-2)
When: 7:30 p.m. today at Dennis Garber Stadium
Last week: Hoffman lost to Hersey 20-7; Prospect d. Fremd 28-14
Outlook: Prospect coach Brent Pearlman hopes last week was the start of fewer points and yards allowed on a consistent basis as DL Dan Panicko helped give RB Peter Bonahoom and QB Steve Dazzo plenty of offensive opportunities. "The one thing I was most encouraged by is we played with a lot more discipline," Pearlman said. "We stuck to the scheme and nobody tried to do anything crazy. We played a lot faster." Hoffman also had a solid defensive effort last week from LB Shawn Lascelles and DL Paul Albani and solid all-around play by Mike DeNight but couldn't overcome four turnovers. "I was happy with the way the defense played, especially with that (Hersey no-huddle) offense," said Hoffman coach Bill Helzer. "It was nice to get pressure from our front three without blitzes." Prospect has won the last five meetings in a series it leads 16-13.
