Your News: Schaumburg Township's Disability Services 25th Annual Picnic
"Safari Adventure" was the theme for Schaumburg Township's Disability Services 25th annual picnic for adults and children with disabilities and their families. Over 200 guests attended the picnic on Saturday, July 31.
This year's picnic co-sponsors were the Schaumburg-Hoffman Lions Club, Bank of America, the Schaumburg Township Human Services Fund, American Enterprise Bank and Village Tavern and Grill.
The Schaumburg-Hoffman Lions Club mascot "Lion", magicians and DJ Eric Brandt entertained the guests as they enjoyed chicken fingers from Village Tavern, pasta salad provided by The Coach House and ice cream from Culver's of Schaumburg. After lunch, the crowd played bingo for a chance to win one of many raffle prizes donated by local businesses.
The highlight of the picnic was a chance to win the guessing game prize of a $100 Jewel-Osco gift card. Over 30 volunteers, SWAP personnel and picnic tables provided by the Schaumburg Park District helped make this year's picnic a success.
Schaumburg Township Disability Services provides numerous and varied services for disabled residents within the township. The township serves residents in portions of the municipalities of Elk Grove, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, and Streamwood, as well as some unincorporated areas of Cook County.
