Funeral plans announced for fallen area Marine, Army Ranger

Funeral arrangements for two fallen area men, Marine Staff Sgt. Christopher Antonik of Crystal Lake, and Army Ranger Spc. Joseph Dimock, of Wildwood, have been released, family members announced.

Visitation for Antonik, 29, will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

Antonik died while supporting combat operations in Helmand province in Afghanistan last Sunday.

The funeral for Antonik will begin at noon Monday at Evangelical Free Church, 575 E. Crystal Lake Ave. Interment will be private.

Visitation for Dimock II, 21, who died in Salerno, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained from a noncombat related incident, will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Wildwood Presbyterian Church, 18630 W. Old Gages Lake Road, Grayslake.

Officials said a memorial service honoring Dimock will be held at 10:03 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

A processional for Dimock will be held Saturday morning, from Waukegan Airport to Strang Funeral Chapelm 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake.

The route will include Route 120 (Belvidere Road) from Interstate 94 west to Grayslake, and will tour the Grayslake and Wildwood areas between 9:30 and 10 a.m.
