Elgin school district hosts Healthy Lifestyle and Wellness Awards

Elgin Area School District U-46's Food and Nutrition Department hosted its first Healthy Lifestyle and Wellness Awards ceremony on May 20. On hand for the celebration were two NFL Hall of Fame players Franco Harris, former running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers (1972-1983), and Lydell Mitchell who played for the Baltimore Colts (1972-1977).

Students honored during the ceremony participated in art and essay contests as part of U-46's celebration of National School Lunch Week.
