Schaumburg's Prairie Arts Festival 2010 a big success

The 23rd annual Prairie Arts Festival held May 29 and 30, was a big success. The event grows each year, and this year hit the jackpot in terms of weather with two sunny days. "The weather was perfect," said event coordinator Roxane Benvenuti.

The artists, who represented 13 states including Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin, were happy with the great attendance. Adults and children alike enjoyed the performances by the musicians throughout the festival. Schaumburg Park District offered art activities for the younger crowd.

Tasty food selections were enjoyed by all. Children had fun playing on the "Awaking Muse," a sculpture on the grounds of the municipal center. Patrons who attended were happy with their unique purchases.
