Cheap stuff: Porsche parade, trolley rides, family fest

Porsches on parade

The Porsche Club of America Chicago region hosts its Porsche Club Concours, a car show featuring 30 to 50 vintage and modern Porsches, displayed outdoors in downtown Long Grove in the Towner Green area, across from the Village Tavern. Food and drink are available for purchase.

Fathers are free

Fathers and grandfathers can ride the trolleys free of charge on Father's Day (with a paid child's fare) at the Fox River Trolley Museum. All other riders pay the regular ride fee.

Family Fest

Schaumburg's Church of the Holy Spirit hosts its 33rd Annual Family Fest, featuring carnival rides, international food booths, games, cash bingo and live entertainment.

Saving the endangered

The Arlington Heights Historical Museum and Heritage Gallery hosts its newest exhibit, "Saving Endangered Species, Saving Ourselves." This traveling multi-media exhibit focuses on harmful environmental changes in the Midwest and looks at ways that people are helping to save various endangered species.

The world of Golden Books

"Golden Legacy: Original Art from 65 Years of Golden Books," an exhibit at the Lake County Discovery Museum, features illustrations from one of American publishing's best-loved picture book series, Little Golden Books. The exhibit features 60 original works from popular stories such as "The Poky Little Puppy," "I Can Fly" and "Tawny Scrawny Lion." An interactive environment with characters from the books is also featured.
