Hanover Park man arrested on drug charges

A 23-year-old Hanover Park man is facing a pair of felony drug charges after police said he sold undercover officers a half kilogram of cocaine in a Streamwood parking lot last week.

Fernando Bonilla Lemus Jr., of the 6600 block of Peachtree Street, was arrested after the alleged sale Thursday on two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

The arrest culminated a Schaumburg police investigation that began last month when, police said, Lemus sold one ounce of cocaine to an undercover officer.

In all, police said officers seized more than 500 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $27,000. Lemus' vehicle was also seized and will be processed for forfeiture, police said.

Lemus' bond was set at $150,000 and his next scheduled court date is June 23.

Schaumburg police were assisted during the investigation by Streamwood and Hanover Park police and federal officials working with HIDTA, or the High Intensity Drug Traffic Area program.
