Stos pitches Wauconda to 20th win

Wauconda 6, Regina 2: At Vernon Hills, the Bulldogs won their Class 3A regional opener as Kayla Stos allowed only a pair of infield singles, losing her shutout in the seventh.

Kate Martino belted a 2-run homer and singled for Wauconda (20-13), which advanced to Saturday's 11 a.m. regional final against the winner of today's game between Vernon Hills and Crystal Lake Central.

Cara Nance (triple, RBI single) and Alex Kinnamon (double) also had 2 hits for the Bulldogs. Kendra Wedl added a double.
