Rabies vaccination clinic
The Kane County Animal Control Department will host a rabies vaccination clinic from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kane County Animal Control Facility, 4060 Keslinger Road in Geneva. The facility is at the southwest corner of Peck and Keslinger roads. The clinic is for dogs and cats only. Fees are payable in cash or check. A vaccine is $15, a county rabies tag is $10 and microchipping is $15. For people 65 and older the county tag is free. For additional information, contact Tom Schlueter at (630) 444-3098.
Huntley hosts history display
The Huntley Area Public Library and the Huntley Historic Preservation Commission are hosting a free, one-day exhibit about Huntley's historic town square. The exhibit aims to recreate the village square as it was 100 years ago. The display will be at Old Village Hall on Coral Street from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8. The exhibit will feature the stories behind the downtown's historic sites, memorabilia and brochures for a self-guided walking tour of the downtown. Call (847) 669-5386 ext. 33.
DaVinci Academy to host benefit auction
DaVinci Academy in Elgin will host its annual benefit auction on Saturday, May 1, at the St. Charles Country Club, 1250 Country Club Road, St. Charles. This year's auction has a theme of "Night of Knights" and celebrates the gifted preschool and grade school's 10th anniversary. Local businesses are invited to donate items, sponsor the event and advertise in the auction catalog. Contributors also will be recognized on the auction blog. The event features raffles and both live and silent auctions. Major raffle items at this year's event include a 52-inch flat screen television and an Apple iMac computer.
