Monday's Fox Valley roundup

St. Edward 2, Aurora Christian 1: Luke Duffy (4-3) pitched out of a bases-loaded, no out situation in the bottom of the seventh to secure the win for the visiting Green Wave (10-9, 4-5) in this Suburban Christian Conference (Gold Division) game. Duffy threw a complete game as he allowed just 3 hits and 1 earned run while walking 4 and striking out 6. Jordan Torres (2-for-4) recorded the Green Wave's lone extra base hit of the day as he hit a double. David Hoebbel also helped at the plate with a 2-for-3 effort.

Huntley 25, Woodstock North 2: The Red Raiders (15-4, 9-3) recorded 15 runs in the first inning as they cruised to an easy victory in this Fox Valley Conference game. Bryce Only recorded the Red Raiders' biggest hit of the afternoon as he hit a grandslam. Josh Prokuski (2-for-2, 2 doubles, 2 RBI), Jake Perkins (3-for-3, 2B, 3 runs, 2 RBI), and Tom Crohan (2-for-2, 2 runs, 2 RBI) each turned in perfect plate performances to lead the Red Raiders. Justin Gundlach (3-0) earned the victory on the mound as he struck out 4 and allowed no runs in 3 innings of work.

Burlington Central 11, North Boone 1: The Rockets (19-1, 4-0) continue to dominate Big Northern East opponents as they handled visiting North Boone in just 6 innings. Sam Klein (5-0) remained undefeated on the mound for the Rockets as he threw a 6-inning, 1-hitter while striking out 9 and walking just 1. Tanner Scott led the Rockets with a 2-for-3 effort from the plate, a double and 2 RBI while Jeff Ehlers recorded 2 doubles. Austin Jarvis also drove in 2 runs.

Neuqua Valley 10, Elgin 4: The Maroons (4-11, 3-6) tried to mount a comeback after falling behind 5-0, but their efforts came up short as they were defeated by the Wildcats in this Upstate Eight Conference matchup. Chris Riggio (2B, 2 RBI) and Adrian Martinez paced the Maroons' offensive attack as they recorded 2 hits apiece while Jacob Meyer added 2 RBI. Meyer (0-3) suffered the loss on the mound as he pitched 41/3 innings, surrendering 9 hits, 1 walk, and 5 earned runs while striking out 1.
