Arlington Heightsbull; Thieves stole a 2007 Subaru sedan valued at $28,000 out of a Firestone service lot, 630 W. Northwest Hwy., between 11:22 p.m. April 11 and 7 a.m. April 12 and set it on fire on Zenith Drive in unincorporated Des Plaines around 10 p.m. April 12. bull; Thieves stole a black metal table off a patio at a home on the 1600 block of Avon Court between 10:30 p.m. April 12 and 8 a.m. April 13 and wrote graffiti with red lipstick on a glass patio door. During the same time, vandals wrote graffiti with red lipstick on a garage window on the 1800 block of Dover Court and broke the decorative top on the wooden mailbox post; also, vandals wrote graffiti with red lipstick on a window at eight other homes on Dover and one on the 1700 block of East Lillian. Burglars also stole a red plastic hockey net/goal valued at $40 out of an open garage on the 1700 block of North Dover and wrote graffiti with a red lipstick on a garage window.bull; Thieves stole a 20-inch 10-speed women's black and silver bicycle valued at $350 out of an open garage on the 100 block of East Fairview around 3 p.m. April 14.bull; Vandals put a 10-to-12-inch hole in the outer pane of a double-pane window at a vacant home on the 700 block of North Dryden between 10:40 and 10:45 p.m. April 13. A witness across the street heard glass break but did not see the offenders.bull; Vandals drove by and cracked a plastic designer mailbox at a home on the 500 block of West Whitehall around 8:17 p.m. April 14. Damage was estimated at $200.bull; Burglars broke into a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee in a business lot at 3350 N. Ridge between 12:30 and 2:55 p.m. April 12 and stole a GPS unit and radar detector. Loss was estimated at $1,100.bull; Burglars stole a computer modem valued at $100 out of an unlocked 2004 Mercury Mountaineer on the 1300 block of East Northwest Highway or at Northwest Community Hospital, 800 Central Road, between 2 and 6 p.m. April 7, but reported April 14. bull; Burglars broke into a 2005 Honda Accord in a business lot at 1501 Shure Drive between 11:30 a.m. and 2:57 p.m. April 12 and stole a radar detector valued at $500.Des Plainesbull; Vandals wrote gang graffiti with white spray paint on an I-90 tollway wall at 3100 S. Scott St. between April 10-13. Damage was estimated at $100. Vandals also scratched and dented a baseball scoreboard in Seminole Park, 3100 S. Scott St., during the same time frame. Damage was estimated at $500.bull; Burglars stole a GPS unit and MP3 player out of an unlocked 2003 Ford Escort at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, between 9:30 and 11 a.m. April 13. Value was estimated at $350.bull; A man and woman stole a cell phone valued at $250 out of an electronics/cell phone store at 1051 S. Elmhurst Road around 4:20 p.m. April 9. They stole the phone when the clerk took a phone call.bull; Burglars broke the door on an empty second-floor office in the ATT building, 2004 Miner St., between April 9 and 12. Nothing appeared to be missing.bull; Kurt I. Christensen, 47, of the 500 block of Ida, Des Plaines, was arrested around 7:25 p.m. April 13 on the 700 block of Lee Street and charged with local ordinance drinking in public after officers were called because Christensen was too drunk to walk and had fallen on the sidewalk. He was holding an open bottle of vodka, three-quarters empty. He was treated at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. His court date is April 28.Mount Prospectbull; Burglars broke a rear wooden door jamb and trim around 9 p.m. April 12 at a home on the 900 block of South Waverly Avenue and entered the home while the male and female residents were sleeping in the upstairs master bedroom. The victims woke up and heard someone running down the stairs. The offenders left before the couple could get downstairs. A chair was placed next to the backyard chain link fence. Nothing appeared to be missing. A neighbor across the street keeps a video camera recording 24 hours a day and the tape showed a vehicle drive past the victims' house and turn around.bull; A motorist drove over the lawn and damaged the grass and a large flowering shrub at a home on the 1200 block of Ironwood between 8 p.m. April 12 and 3 p.m. April 13. The vehicle drove off northbound Westgate and into the victim's backyard. Damage was estimated at $1,000.bull; Elizabeth E. Juern, 25, of the 2000 block of David Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested around 4:45 p.m. April 13 and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on the 200 block of North William Street. An officer found marijuana in Juern's purse. Her court date is May 4.bull; A motorist drove a vehicle over new and existing sod at Prospect Meadows Park, 1101 N. Forest Ave., between April 10-12. The vandal spun the tires, making the damage more severe. Damage was estimated at $150.Palatinebull; Burglars stole a cell phone out of a 2008 Lexus SUV on the 1000 block of North Smith Street between 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. April 11.bull; Aaron J. De Prycker, 26, of the 700 block of East Baldwin Road, Palatine, was arrested around 2:20 a.m. April 11 and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana.bull; Esteban A. Ortega, 18, of the 900 block of Buccaneer Drive, Schaumburg, was arrested around 11:25 p.m. April 11 on the 1000 block of South Quentin Road and charged with possession of marijuana after an officer found 25 grams in Ortega's shoe.Streamwood bull; Nichole M. Cadwallader, 22, of the 7400 block of Nantucket Cove, Hanover Park, was arrested around 4:20 p.m. April 2 at Walmart, 850 S. Barrington Road, and charged with retail theft after she took merchandise valued at $107. Her court date is May 5. bull; Cathrine S. Pawluk, 19, of the 400 block of East, Streamwood, and Jeffrey Rafalko, 18, of the 1300 block of Carlson, Streamwood, were arrested around 10:55 p.m. April 6 on the 100 block of Brittany Drive and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia (drug pipes). Their court date is May 5. bull; Alma D. Ballesteros-Najera, 19, and Eva Meza-Aviles, 49, both of the 0-100 block of Crystal Street, Elgin, were arrested around 8:55 p.m. April 10 at Walmart, 850 S. Barrington Road, and charged with retail theft after they took merchandise valued at $231. bull; Vandals wrote gang graffiti on the aluminum siding at homes on the 1500 and 1600 blocks of McKool between midnight and 10 a.m. April 12. bull; Juan A. Lara, 17, and Luis E. Lara,17, both of the 1100 block of Fulton Drive, Streamwood, were arrested around 7 p.m. April 12 at Bartlett and Beverly roads and charged with theft and felony criminal damage to property after they stopped a car at Lacy and South Park avenues, flashed gang signs, chased three men from the car, and bashed the car with a metal pipe. They stole a cell phone and jacket out of the car. They drove away but officers stopped their car and the victims identified them. Damage was estimated at $2,790. Juan A. Lara and a 17-year-old male were arrested around 8:55 p.m. April 10 in Oakwood Park, 3000 Club Tree Drive, after the park had closed, and charged with criminal trespass. Lara's court date is May 7; the teen's court date is May 5. bull; Jose L. Tellis, 39, of the 100 block of Woodcrest Circle, Streamwood, was arrested around 3:50 p.m. April 13 at his home and charged with two counts of local ordinance battery after he pushed two girls into a fence on Tanglewood at Cahill avenues when they taunted his niece.
