Cassie Dumoulin scored a hat trick Tuesday as the Hampshire girls soccer team nailed down a 5-0 shutout win over Belvidere.
Kelsey Burke and Paige Palubicki scored the other goals for the Whip-Purs (3-4), while Bridget Dumoulin, Helena Van Eck and Palubicki registered assists. Halee Muscato had 2 saves in goal in earning the shutout.
"We played our first complete game of the season today," said Hampshire coach Patrick O'Brien. "Our defense has been coming together nicely over the last few games and Cassie continues to provide needed offense with five starters out for us."
Dundee-Crown 4, Maine East 0: The Chargers (3-1-1) started off the Grayslake North tournament on a high-note as they netted 4 goals and held Maine East scoreless to secure a victory. Hannah Larson found the back of the net twice as she led the Chargers while Heidi Hart and Lindsay Bakewell (assist) also added goals. Carolyn Schneider added 2 assists on the night while Deanna Libricz preserved the shutout in goal.
Huntley 7, Harlem 0: The Red Raiders (7-0) put on a scoring demonstration Tuesday as 6 different players recorded goals en route to an easy shutout victory at home. Aimee Wronski led the charge with 2 goals while Taylor Henning-Fletter, Sam Zobott, Corrine Wronski, Priscilla Jara, and Ashley Schorr each recorded one goal apiece. Sara Hoffman and Kaytlyn Owens combined for 1 save in goal to earn the shutout and keep the Red Raiders undefeated.
South Elgin 5, St. Edward 0: Lauren Vedrine found the back of the net twice off feeds from Jenna Hollander in the first half as that would be all the offense the Storm (4-3) would need as they cruised to victory over the visiting Green Wave. Jill Ellison, Molly Tierney and Alyssa Gemein would provide insurance goals in the second half while Taylor Schulze added an assist. Emily Young recorded 2 saves on the night to preserve the shutout in goal for the Storm.
Glenbard North 3, Streamwood 0: The Sabres were unable to find the back of the net, but showed improvement in their loss on the road. Brianna Roppo turned away 9 shots on goal.
"(We) played our best game yet and we are excited for our next match on Saturday," Streamwood coach Chelsea Lloyd said.
