Saturday's Fox Valley roundup
The Huntley girls soccer team remained undefeated for the season and won its own invitational title Saturday, downing Larkin 3-0 and Libertyville 2-1. The Libertyville goal was the first score against Huntley (6-0-0) this season.
Rachel Chapius scored twice against Larkin and Cori Wronski once. Sara Hoffman and Kaytyln Owens were again not called upon to make any saves in goal.
Against Libertyville, Alyse Williams' first goal of the season was the game-winner in the second half for the Red Raiders. Priscilla Jara scored for Huntley off a Bre Burry assist in the first half. Hoffman made 1 save in goal for Huntley and Owens played the net the second half but didn't need to make any saves.
Bartlett 2, South Elgin 0: Trisha Donlon and Nicole Gobbo scored for Bartlett in this win at the South Elgin Invitational. Erin Zaideman had 2 saves in goal for the Hawks while Emily Young made 6 saves and Lauren McKay one for the Storm.
South Elgin 3, West Chicago 2: The Storm (3-3) salvaged a win in the final round of their own invitational. Jill Ellison, Kelsey Fitzpatrick and Gina Simone scored for South Elgin. Lauren McKay made 5 saves in goal and Alyssa Gemein had three.
Schaumburg 2, CL South 0: Elizabeth Quinn made 4 saves in goal but the Gators (2-2) couldn't find the back of the net in this nonconference loss to Schaumburg.
Burlington Central wins, ties: Playing in the Huntley Invitational, the Rockets got 2 goals from Madalene Stoneman to beat Glenbard North 2-1. BC also tied Marian Central 0-0 with Caitlin Solberg making 9 saves in goal.
Hampshire splits: Cassie Dumoulin scored a hat trick and Kelsey Burke, Jori Anderson, Dichelle Spielman and Emily Zeller each had single goals as Hampshire beat Elgin 7-1 in the South Elgin Invitational. Haylee Moscato had 2 saves in the win. The Whip-Purs then lost to Rolling Meadows 2-1. Paige Palibicki had the lone goal and Moscato made 15 saves in goal for the Whip-Purs (1-4).
