Dole Mansion setting for historic groups' gathering
The Lakeside Legacy will host the spring meeting of the McHenry County Joint Council of Historic Groups at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 24. The meeting will be at the Dole Mansion and is open to the public. Just before the meeting, the main floor of the historic 1864 Dole Mansion will be open between 6 and 7 p.m. for self-guided tours.
Catherine O'Connor, manager of Local Governmental Services with the Illinois Preservation Agency, will discuss various preservation services available to local governments. The joint council meets twice a year and serves as an informal network of preservation commissions, local historical societies, specialized restoration interest associations and other individuals interested in McHenry County history.
Following the program, joint council members will discuss plans and public programs for "Look At Local History" month in May. For further information call Gloria Mack at (815) 363-1058 or Nancy Fike at (815) 923-2267.
