Caramelized Onions
4 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon garlic powder

teaspoon red pepper flakes
½
teaspoon smoked paprika
8 medium yellow onions, thinly sliced
½
teaspoon salt
In a large Dutch oven over medium-high, melt the butter. Add the thyme, garlic powder, pepper flakes and smoked paprika. Cook, stirring constantly, for 30 seconds.Add the onions and salt, then stir well to coat. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for another 25 minutes, stirring every 5 or so minutes.Uncover the pot, stir, then cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
