Class 3A Marshall regional final

No. 9 Glenbard South (16-10) vs. No. 1 Marshall (23-7)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Outlook: Needless to say, this is a daunting challenge for the Raiders on the Commandos' home court. Marshall has won six straight regional titles, claimed the 2008 Class 3A state championship and placed third the two prior years. The Commandos, who fell to Morgan Park in the Chicago Public League title game, entered the postseason ranked fifth in the state in 3A. Keifer Sykes and Vince Garrett lead Marshall against the Raiders, who are riding an eight-game winning streak. Guards Mike Rovansek and Trace Wanless need to stay aggressive going to the basket, and both must be hot on the perimeter. Six-foot-9 Dylan Rheault, who scored a game-high 24 in the semifinals, needs to continue the surge he's enjoyed the second half of the season for the Raiders to stay close.
