Vision for Mundelein:Residents, business owners, elected and appointed officials, and others are invited to work together to create a vision for Mundelein during a workshop at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the fire department headquarters, 1000 N. Midlothian Road. Small and large group working sessions will be held to review and discuss conditions and potentials within the village. The large group will identify issues and opportunities, and the small groups will develop visions for the future. The meeting will conclude with general agreement regarding the long-term role and character of Mundelein and the projects and improvements that will be desirable in the future. The workshop is part of the process of an update of Mundelein's comprehensive plan. Since the academic year began in September, kindergarten classrooms have been making a chain, with each link representing a day of school. "Each classroom celebrates the 100th day of school with different math and literacy activities to honor this important milestone in a child's first year of school," Principal Lori Casey said.
