Queen of the Rosary School celebrates Catholic Schools Week

Queen of the Rosary School in Elk Grove Village kicked-off Catholic Schools Week Sunday, Jan. 31, with a Mass celebrated by the Rev. Edward Pelrine.

The week was filled with activities that included an open house, community reception, flag ceremony and peace prayer service, academic bowls, an all school read, vocation assemblies, appreciation luncheon for teachers, and a volunteer reception.

The Heart of the School - a highlight of the week - recognized Sue Wilson for her dedication to the school and Don & Eileen Kellen for their support of the Student Council and their commitment to St. James Food Pantry.

As a gesture of thanks, parents dropping off students on the morning of Monday, Feb. 1, received a thank you in the form of pasty treat from school staff.

Queen of the Rosary School, pre-K through grade 8, is currently accepting registration for the 2010-2011 school year and is looking forward to the addition of a full day preschool program.
