Elgin Township youth funding:Youth funding proposals for Elgin Township are now being accepted. The application deadline is March 12. Proposals may be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the township office, 729 S. McLean Blvd., Elgin. The will be considered by the township board at its April 7 meeting. Personal presentations are not necessary but encouraged. Grants will be awarded in May. Call (847) 741-2045 for details.Walk for Habitat:Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley will host its 20th Walkathon from 8 to 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, at Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee. The organization aims to raise $4,000 to purchase a construction trailer. The walkathon is the first of many events celebrating Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley's 20th anniversary. Later in the year, the organization will hold a 20 Day Blitz Build and the first Women Build house. As in the past, Habitat will recognize the organization that earns the highest pledge amount and this year will also recognize the individual who raises the largest pledge. The money will benefit Rotary International's Haiti Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit fund. You can donate to both Harris Bank locations in Cary and Fox River Grove and to Cary Bank and Trust.
