Huntley library to close briefly:The Huntley Area Public Library will close briefly while library staff relocate items from the library to a new mobile annex. The library will be closed from Friday, Feb. 26, through Sunday, Feb. 28. The children's department, which will relocate to the annex, will be closed from Sunday, Feb. 21, through Sunday, Feb. 28. Call (847) 669-5386 for more information.Health clinic expands service:The Greater Elgin Family Care Center is expanding its health care services to McHenry County full time, thanks to a $2.45 million grant from the federal government. The money will fund construction of a new, 8,300-square-foot clinic in McHenry, at 4100 Veterans Parkway, adjacent to Family Services and Community Mental Health Center. The clinic will feature 12 examination rooms and serve about 2,100 patients. The center, first opened in 2001, provides health care to individuals or families who do not have medical insurance, receive Medicare or Medicaid or are All Kids and FamilyCare recipients.Volunteers for recycling program:Kane County is seeking adult volunteers to assist with its electronics recycling program. Volunteers are needed to help unload electronics equipment such as computers, televisions and telephones from the public's vehicles. The program operates on the second Friday and Saturday of each month at the Circuit Clerk building on Randall Road in St. Charles. Since the program began in 2001, more than 38,000 residents and businesses have recycled more than 4.3 million pounds of used electronics.
