St. Edward downs Northridge Prep

In a defensive battle, the St. Edward boys basketball team inched closer to .500 Wednesday night with a 41-32 nonconference win over Northridge Prep in Elgin.

Senior DJ Byrnes led the way for the Green Wave (7-8) with a game-high 20 points that included five 3-pointers.

Zack VonAhnen added 15 points for St. Edward, which had just 4 players score in the game.
