Algonquin's Winter Wonderland:

You are invited to party with Santa Claus and his elves from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, in the gym at Algonquin Middle School. There will be games, you can listen to carolers, make gifts and bring your Santa letters to drop off in his mailbox. It costs $5 if you preregister your child and $6 if you don't. Fitness center offers free classes:

The Huntley Park District is offering free fitness classes this month at the district's Fitness Center, 12015 Mill St. Free classes will be offered through Dec. 31. Winter coat drive:

Active Living Chiropractic in Carpentersville is holding its first winter coat drive benefiting local families in need. The office, at 2259 Randall Road, will accept gently worn coats, scarves gloves and winter hats. New patients will receive a free consultation, while existing patients receive a free spinal adjustment.
