Christmas trees for charity
The Algonquin Lions Club will sell Christmas trees and wreaths at the Algonquin State Bank, at Randall Road and Huntington Drive, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends. This is the lions club's 42nd annual event and the proceeds go to the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Food Pantry and the Fish Food Pantry in Carpentersville.

The Christmas tree lot sponsored by the Cary-Grove Jaycees will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday nights and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in the parking lot of the Algonquin Township building, 3702 Route 14 in Crystal Lake. The Jaycees have been selling trees for more than 30 years. Proceeds will support the Jaycees' various events. For details, e-mail gailo32@sbcglobal.net.
Used cell phones needed
The Central Kane County TRIAD is seeking donations of used cell phones for seniors. Donated phones should be in general working order and have chargers included. They will be made available for seniors to use to call 911 in the event of an emergency. Donations are being accepted in the lobbies of the St. Charles Police Department, 2 State Ave., and the Geneva Township Senior Center, 400 Wheeler Drive. For details, call (630) 232-3602.
