Sherman restricts visitation

Sherman Hospital in Elgin has enacted a temporary visitor limitation policy to help protect patients against the spread of H1N1 virus. Effective today, visitors that have a fever or respiratory illness should not visit patients. Except in extraordinary circumstances, there will be no visitors under 16 and no more than two visitors at a time. Pregnant women and people with asthma should not visit during the flu season either. Sherman officials said the policy will be reviewed at a later date, but did not give a time frame for when the restrictions would be lifted.
