St. Viator rolls to 2A regional title
St. Viator's boys soccer team isn't taking any chances of an early postseason exit.
Alan Aboona scored 2 goals and Scott Faul took care of the bulk of the shutout in goal as the top-seeded Lions (19-4-1) romped past Class 2A regional host Ridgewood 7-0 to claim the championship in Norridge.
Jack Horvath and Kevin Cavers had a goal and 2 assists for Viator, which will play fourth-seeded Fenton in Tuesday's 4 p.m. sectional semifinal at Elmwood Park. Tim Phillips and Trevor Wheeler also scored for the Lions.
Lake Zurich 5, Barrington 0: Brenden Seeger and Tim Kreutz had 2 goals apiece and Brett Harper added another goal as top-seeded Lake Zurich won its 3A regional title over No. 3 Barrington.
