Outlook A Glenbard South win clinches at least a share of the program's first conference title since 1977, while a Sycamore victory would further solidify the Spartans' second playoff berth since 2002. Slowing Glenbard South's powerful offense won't be easy. The Raiders scored on nearly every possession last week and did it quickly. Despite outgaining Rochelle in total yards, the Raiders ran only 37 offensive plays and had possession for 15 minutes. Quarterback Trace Wanless continues his second season of stellar play. Last week he threw for 177 yards and rushed for 101 yards, giving him nearly 1,200 passing yards and 660 rushing yards. With dynamic skill players like Nick Slezak and Connor Douglas, the Raiders are flat-out dangerous offensively. Slezak and Douglas are also critical defensively. Last week Slezak notched 12 solo tackles and caused a fumble while fellow linebacker Nick Boesso and defensive back Brandon Phillips also had double-digit tackles. Of course, you can't mention Glenbard South's defense without talking about senior nose tackle Austin Teitsma, one of the WSC's elite players who will be the point man in trying to slow Sycamore running backs Joe Dougherty and Marckie Hayes.
