DAR essay contest: The Twenty-first Star Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution announce its annual American History Essay Contest. All students, fifth-eighth grade are eligible. The 2009-2010 topic is "The Completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad." Deadline submission is Tuesday, Dec. 1.
