Conant High School, WINGS host event
As National Domestic Violence Awareness Month is observed across the country this month, Conant High School is partnering with WINGS (Women in Need Growing Stronger) for a domestic violence awareness program on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the school's stadium, 700 E. Cougar Trail in Hoffman Estates. This program is part of the school's commitment to remember their fallen Cougar, Laura Engelhardt, who was killed last spring in a domestic violence dispute. The program will feature several guest speakers, including Hoffman Estates Mayor Bill McLeod and WINGS Executive Director Rebecca Darr.
