Outlook This could be the night the St. Edward football community has been building toward for five years. For the first time since the program was rebuilt from the ashes by coach Mike Rolando, St. Edward is on the cusp of clinching a playoff berth. The emotion should be palpable. "The boys can't wait to get on the field, the coaches can't wait to get on the field," Rolando said. "We're just anxious to play a big game. They're all big. IC was big and there have been a couple of big ones along the way. But this one is homecoming, (a win) would put us in front in the conference and it would be the sixth win we need for the playoffs. You couldn't bundle it up any better." The Green Wave can move into first-place in the Suburban Christian Conference's Gold Division with a victory over the first-place Eagles. To do so St. Edward must contain junior brothers John and Sheldon Magee. John, a running back, has carried 98 times for 735 yards and 9 touchdowns. Sheldon is the leading receiver with 27 catches for 483 yards from sophomore quarterback Grayson Roberts (61 of 139, 855 yards, 11 TDs, 11 Ints.). "They have some athletes speed-wise that we can't match up with," Rolando said. "Both of the Magee brothers are very fast. We have some good athletes on our side, some bigger kids, but I'm sure they'll try to find a way to get both Magees out in space and make us miss. They have a reputation of being a passing team, but they've predominantly run the ball in big games. We have to get to the outside, corral them and turn them into our linebackers."
