Jaycees raise funds with pizza competition

Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg Jaycee chapters will determine who makes the best pizza in the Schaumburg Township area, from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at the Schaumburg Township Hall, 1 Illinois Blvd., Hoffman Estates.

For $6, residents will be able to judge the best pizza for themselves and at the same time help the community. Participants will sample pizzas - thin crust, pan crust and "specialty" - from different restaurants. All profits will be donated to state and local charities.

The Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg Jaycee chapters conduct several projects each year including the Make a Difference Day food drive, a summer carnival, holiday food baskets, a Christmas wish tree and the Best Pizza contest. At the end of each fiscal year, all profits generated from the projects, less expenses, are funneled back into the community.

The Jaycees provide individuals between the ages of 18-41 the opportunity to develop personal and leadership skills while serving their community. (847)-385-8265 or hoffmanestatesjaycees.org or schaumburgjaycees.org.
