Outlook St. Edward aims to get back on track in this Suburban Christian Conference crossover game after suffering its first loss of the season last week. "It was a tough one to take for a lot of reasons, but the more I look at it the more I think it came down to the coaches," St. Edward coach Mike Rolando said of the Gold Division loss to Chicago Christian. "It's our fault. The kids weren't ready to play, weren't prepared and didn't have a good week of practice. All of that falls on the coaches. We have to do our job. Chicago Christian wasn't bigger than us, wasn't stronger than us, wasn't faster than us so the coaches have to do a better job of coming out ready to play football." The Green Wave will try to take out their frustration on the Chargers, who snapped a 13-game losing streak dating back to 2007 with last week's blowout of Michigan Lutheran, a game that was played at Valparaiso University. The Chargers were outscored 114-17 in their first three games of this season by Genoa-Kingston, Marengo and Marian Central. However, the fact ACC lost to Marengo by only a 14-10 score gives St. Edward reason for concern because Marengo defeated Chicago Christian 20-0 in the season opener. "ACC played Marengo closer than Chicago Christian did so, technically, they could be better than Chicago Christian," Rolando said. "I think they're going to be a better team than we've seen in four years. If we play our best game we should be all right, but if we're faltering in any part of our game I think they could definitely hand us a loss so we'd better be prepared."
