Aldrin's likeness in Legos
The father/son team of Dave and John Xandegar has lent their original Lego creation of astronaut Buzz Aldrin to the Lake Villa Library after it spent the summer at NASA's Glenn Research Center in Cleveland. Created in honor of the 40th anniversary of the lunar landing, the model is 371/2 inches tall, weighs 40 pounds, and is made entirely out of Lego pieces. It comes complete with the reflections of the earth and the American flag in the helmet visor. Lego Buzz will be on display at the library, 1001 E. Grand Ave., Lake Villa, until mid-October.
