Barrington

• Tatum J. Powell, 17, of the 1000 block of Oakland Court, Barrington; Zachary R. Zurawski, 20, of the 23500 block of North Spring Drive, Barrington; Taylor B. Hudson, 17, of the 800 block of South Pearl Avenue, McHenry; Monica J. Matheson, 17, of the 400 block of Morgan Lane, Fox River Grove; and two boys, 15 and 16 years old, were arrested around 9:20 p.m. Sept. 11 at Powell's home and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Their court date is Oct. 1.

• Ryan A. McLaughlin, 19, of the 200 block of Whitney, Barrington, was arrested around 4:50 p.m. Sept. 10 at his home and charged with disorderly conduct after a confrontation with a family member. His court date is Oct. 15.

Hoffman Estates

• Burglars broke into five vehicles in an apartment lot on the 1300 block of Rebecca Drive overnight Sept. 12-13 for a total loss estimated at $4,000. Burglars stole an in-dash radio, radar detector, and iPod with speaker out of a 2005 Subaru, smashed the rear window on a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer, stole two faceplates, radar detector, and power inverter out of a 1993 Nissan, stole the in-dash radio and loose change out of a 1999 Jeep Cherokee, and stole the radio faceplate out of a 2001 Saturn.

• Burglars broke into a 2002 Cadillac Escalade on the 700 block of Salem Drive between 9 p.m. Sept. 10 and 6 a.m. Sept. 11 and stole the in-dash stereo, radar detector and amplifier for a loss estimated at $1,255.

Palatine

• Joseph G. Reid, 42, of the 1000 block of West Elm Street, Palatine, was arrested around 4:20 a.m. Sept. 13 and charged with three counts of battery. Reports said Reid walked up to a 31-year-old man at the order counter at Subway restaurant, 220 N. Smith St., and punched him in the face without provocation. When two witnesses tried to stop him, he punched and bit them. They sat on him until officers arrived.

• Ricardo Barreto, 36, of the 300 block of Virginia, Bensenville, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 13 after a traffic stop at Rand Road and Williams Drive and charged with local ordinance possession of marijuana. His court date is Oct. 22.

•Thieves stole a black and red 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle valued at $8,000 out of an apartment lot on the 1400 block of East Evergreen Drive between 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 and 1 a.m. Sept. 12. Someone stole the license plate Aug. 26.

•A thief was seen on a security tape stealing 51 wooden pallets worth $408 from Ace Hardware, 239 E. Northwest Hwy. between 12:03 and 12:10 a.m. Sept. 11 and between 5:28 and 5:41 a.m. Sept. 12.

Schaumburg

• Princeton Allen Carter, 19, of the 1200 block of West Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, was arrested around 1:35 a.m. Sept. 12 at his home and charged with battery. His court date is Oct. 27.

• Burglars broke into a 2008 Honda sedan and a 2006 Toyota SUV in a nightclub parking lot at 1301 American Lane between 7:30 and 9:45 p.m. Sept. 2 and stole a purse and GPS unit out of the Honda and a laptop computer and GPS unit out of the Toyota for a loss of $2,900.

• Burglars stole the in-dash stereo, GPS unit and iPod worth $900 out of a 1999 Ford Explorer on the 700 block of Starboard Point between 9 p.m. Sept. 12 and 10 a.m. Sept. 13.

• A thief stole a purse in a salon at 601 N. Martingale Road between 7:14 and 8:33 p.m. Sept. 8, took $150 and left it on a bench outside.

• Burglars broke into a 1996 Mazda Protege between 1 and 11 a.m. Sept. 12 on the 1000 block of Dickens Way and stole a GPS valued at $275.
