DAR essay contest: The Twenty-first Star Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution announce its annual American History Essay Contest. All students, fifth-eighth grade are eligible. The 2009-2010 topic is "The Completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad." Deadline submission is Tuesday, Dec. 1. Autumn Harvest Baby Photo Contest: The Arlington Heights Junior Woman's Club invites parents to submit photos of their babies for its second annual Autumn Harvest Baby Photo Contest.
