Visitors also can share stories, photos and videos.

Take a Stand for Turning Point:

Crystal Lake-based Star 105.5 will again urge listeners to "Take a Stand for Turning Point" with a 36-hour Radiothon Aug. 28 and 29 to raise funds for the anti-domestic violence agency. The station will begin broadcasting at 6 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, from Sam's Club in Crystal Lake and will continue through 6 p.m. Aug. 29, directing listeners to come by or call in and make a donation. This will be the fourth year the station has hosted the event. The event, Turning Point's largest annual fundraiser, takes on added importance this year with the agency facing state and federal budget cuts that have already forced cuts in programs and services. Last year, the event raised more than $80,000. Turning Point is accepting advance donations to be announced during the event and seeking corporate sponsors. Interested Donors should call Joe Kvidera at (815) 338-8081.
