Hardcovers, paperbacks, children's Books, Cooking and Craft Books, Music, CDs, Videos and more. Friday will feature a half-price sale and Saturday will feature a $5 bag sale. Aug. 9

Mallard Lake Apartments Book Drive: Noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, Mallard Lake Apartments parking lot, corner of Hintz Lane and Lakeview Drive, Wheeling. The book drive will help sponsor the Indian Trails Public Library. Residents of the area are welcome to donate books, explore the book mobile and listen to a storyteller. Farmers market: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Every Wednesday through Oct. 14, Our Lady of the Brook Catholic Community, 3700 Dundee, Northbrook. A weekly farmers market will feature dozens of vendors, selling fresh produce, flowers, organic foods, artisan cheeses, baked goods and more. Samples will be available. Lake Villa District Library Used Book Sale: Members' preview: 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, open to the public: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, Lake Villa Public Library, 1001 E. Grand Avenue, Lake Villa. On Saturday, $5 to fill up grocery bag from 9 a.m. to noon and $1 to fill a plastic bag from noon to 4 p.m. Donations of gently-used books will be accepted in the meeting room through Sunday, Aug. 9.
