Mallard Lake Apartments Book Drive: Noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, Mallard Lake Apartments parking lot, corner of Hintz Lane and Lakeview Drive, Wheeling. The book drive will help sponsor the Indian Trails Public Library. Residents of the area are welcome to donate books, explore the book mobile and listen to a storyteller. Grand Avenue, Lake Villa. On Saturday, $5 to fill up grocery bag from 9 a.m. to noon and $1 to fill a plastic bag from noon to 4 p.m. Donations of gently-used books will be accepted in the meeting room through Sunday, Aug. 9.
