No charges in Hampshire crash

No criminal charges will be filed in a July 10 crash south of Burlington that killed a 35-year-old Hampshire man, the Kane County sheriff's office said Monday. Police said they have closed an investigation into the death of Tim Hasse after it was determined he had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.127 percent and was driving in excess of 75 mph at the time of the crash. Hasse died after his southbound Chevy Suburban went off the road in the 11N000 block of Peplow Road and rolled several times about 9:30 p.m. Police said Hasse was not wearing a seat belt. Although Hasse's vehicle did not make contact with any others, he did swerve to avoid hitting a car parked in the southbound lane. Jean Prestidge, 56, of Hampshire, was ticketed for parking her car in the roadway while she retrieved her mail.
