High-flying barbecue set:
The Lima Lima Flight Team and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana are sponsoring a "Flying High BBQ" from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the DuPage Airport, 2700 International Drive, West Chicago. The event will give families the chance to meet Ronald McDonald, ride in a flight simulator, enjoy barbecue by Kitty Hawk Cafe and meet with Lima Lima pilots. Police still hunt vandals:
Naperville Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of vandals who damaged the newly installed artificial turf football field at Naperville North High School, 899 N. Mill St. Police say the vandalism, discovered late last week, caused several thousand dollars damage. Anyone with information is asked to call (630) 420-6006.
Shop the sidewalks:
The Glen Ellyn Sidewalk Sale will continue today and Saturday in the central business district. Glen Ellyn merchants will have goods on the sidewalks of downtown and the Roosevelt Road Corridor. The downtown will also feature games for kids, martial arts demonstrations and music. The sales will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
