McHenry County seeks input on conservation design
McHenry County's Land First Taskforce is hosting a public forum Thursday to solicit comments on proposed changes to portions of the county's subdivision ordinance that encourage and govern conservation-friendly design. The event takes place at 10 a.m. in Conference Room B of the McHenry County Administration Building, 667 Ware Road, Woodstock. The changes amend previously adopted regulations regarding the subdivision of land that contains or is adjacent to natural areas. The standards and procedures also seek to protect highly sensitive recharge areas and buffer natural resources by evaluating "land first" before development is designed and allowed to begin. For details, call the McHenry County Planning and Development Office at (815) 334-4560.
